Wine Tours in Cambridgeshire

Cambridge

Experiences Flash element

Your wine tour takes place at a stunning country house in Cambridgeshire that is home to a modern winery. The area boasts a rather special microclimate, meaning the 18 acres of free draining soil makes for abundant vine growth on the sun-soaked south westerly slopes.

On your tour you'll wander through the vines, learning about the traditional methods used on the estate. Grapes grown at this vineyard are all harvested by hand and include Schonenberger, Muller-Thurgau, Ortega, Pinot Noir and Reichensteiner all giving the wine a certain sweetness.

When it comes to tasting the wine produced on this estate, you'll remark at how the wines are characterised by a clear flavour, fragrant nose, firm body and good acidity. Of course, such an event deserves some fine food to go with the wines, so a two course lunch with coffee is included in the price, making for a truly sumptuous day out in the English countryside for any wine enthusiast. Other amazing vineyard tours are on offer from IntotheBlue at vineyards throughout the UK.

You will assemble for tea or coffee at 10.30am before heading off on your guided tour of winery with a full explanation of vine growing, vineyard practice and making still and sparkling wines.  Tasting of up to five different wines and then a two course lunch is served. Departures at about 1415 with a bottle of wine as a memento of the day.

Selected Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from March to October.

The Vineyard is located just 20 minutes from Cambridge with excellent road link to the M11 and 114.

All visitors must be over the age of 18. Comfortable shoes and outdoor clothing is advised. The walk to the vineyard lasts around half an hour. Those not wishing to take part in the walk are welcome to wait in the Bistro.

The activity is not suitable for spectators. The estate offers excellent facilities including a stunning country house with lots of interesting architectural features, an art gallery, shop, restaurant and conference centre.

Customer Reviews

I bought this wine tasting and vineyard tour day as a wedding present and thought it was a very good package that been put together. It seemed to be good value and a unique experience. I was also extremely impressed with the fast delivery of the gift voucher and the personalisation and presentation.

When he took one look at the Into the Blue voucher pack my husband thought he was going for a parachute jump! But it was much better than that - I had booked for him to wine tasting in Cambridgeshire, the largest vineyard in East Anglia. He thoroughly enjoyed the day sampling many home produced wines which would challenge any of the continental vinos! We were treated not only to wine tasting and a meal, but also a tour of the vineyard making it a very pleasant day all round. Would thoroughly recommend this trip to all.

The gift was purchased as a wedding present for a couple who had everything for the home already. We decided on the wine tasting tour of th vineyard in Cambridgeshire as something different. The couple had a great time and a lovely lasagne and Eton Mess lunch with wine. There was a lot of walking around the vineyard and it was really interesting and we thoroughly enjoyed it. A great success and something different and something to remember!
