Our classic wine tasting experience takes place in the suitably auspicious and glamorous Bloomsbury St Hotel in central London, making for an informative and entertaining evening out learning about classic wines.
The essence of this evening is to teach you all about classic wine grape varieties. If you don't know your red grapes such as Gamay, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon from your white grapes like Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio, this classic wine tasting evening is just for you! Even if you are a bit of a wine connoisseur already, it's a convivial way to taste up to eight different wines under the guidance of wine expert Margaret Silbermann; a 'Super' Sommelier who holds diplomas in Wine and Spirit Education Trust and is advanced in studies for the prestigious 'Master of Wine' qualification.
Not only will you learn about the grapes used in wine production, you will also find out how to really appreciate wine and the techniques of tasting from appearance, in glass fragrances, in mouth sensations to finish or aftertaste. After this classic wine tasting your Vin de Table just won't be the same again!
After trying all the classic wines offered for tasting, you don't leave the soiree empty handed, you're given wine notes to remind you of what you've learnt during your evening.
This classic wine tasting event lasts two hours and includes: hosting by a certified wine expert, explanation of tasting techniques, wine characteristics, regions, styles and producers. Tasting of at least eight different classic wines. Tasting glasses, water and biscuits are provided along with wine notes to take away with you.
Classes run from 7-9pm on selected weekdays usually at least once a Month. Wine tasting and
vineyard tours are available at alternative venues nationwide.
The classic wine tasting events take place at The Bloomsbury St Hotel in London with easy access from Tottenham Court Road or Holborn tube stations.
Minimum age for classic wine tasting is 18.
This activity is not suitable for spectators. The central location of the venue means it's within easy reach of restaurants, bars, shops and accommodation.
