Middle Eastern Cookery Experience

Unravel the mysteries of Middle Eastern cookery with these wonderful hands-on workshops for up to two people in Haslemere, Surrey. You'll spend three hours discovering the aromatic and wholesome ingredients used to create flavoursome dishes from all corners of the Middle East, from Persia and Libya, to the Yemen and Armenia.
Knowledgeable chef Pat Chapman will delight in sharing his passion for all things spicy and nice with you. Middle Eastern cookery uses many spices like cumin, coriander, cinnamon, paprika, saffron and molasses to infuse exotic flavours into classic Middle Eastern meals such as Faisinjan Moresh (a sweet and sour duck recipe) and Bras Tahni (leeks with walnut), with meat being slowly cooked for maximum tenderness.
These Middle Eastern courses (other cookery courses are available) offer a fun and informative way to learn about a whole host of recipes and style of exotic cuisine you may never have experienced before. By the end of the workshop you'll have helped conjure up enough mouthwatering dishes to feed half a dozen people and, after tasting them yourselves, you get to take the meals home with you.

This Middle Eastern workshop lasts approximately 3 hours. You'll enjoy exclusive tuition from cookery experts Pat and Dominique Chapman. You'll be 'hands on' and will create 5 delicious Middle Eastern dishes. You'll get to sample the dishes as you make them and take home what's left at the end of the course. In total you should make enough food for 6 people. Tea, coffee and soft drinks are provided. The course is 1:1 however you are welcome to take along a friend to share the experience. Courses are available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays all year round. Duration is usually from 10.00am till 1.00pm.

This course is suitable for all adults and children over 10 if they have a keen interest in cooking and a taste for Middle Eastern food. Please bring your own food boxes to transport your creations home with you, alternatively boxes can be purchased on site.

This activity is not suitable for spectators. Local accommodation can be recommended when booking.
