Learn sushi with these professionally taught sushi experiences in Brighton to get a taste of preparing authentic kappamaki, nigiri and temaki sushi with the very freshest Japanese cooking ingredients.

Sushi chefs are highly skilled and it takes years to learn how to turn raw fish into fine sushi, but with these sushi making parties you can have fun and have a go at being a sushi master!
 
You will be supplied with everything needed to create a variety of sushi - the sushi rice, soy sauce, wasabi, nori seaweed sheets, gari, all the fillings, sushi roll mats, cutting boards, specialist sushi knives, aprons and serving equipment are all provided.  All you need to bring is a smile and an appetite to taste these Japanese food delights.

After an introduction to the ingredients and history of sushi, your chefs will teach you how to prepare and season perfect sushi rice. Then it's time to get stuck in as you spend approximately one and a half hours creating a stunning array of cucumber rolls, California rolls, prawn and octopus nigiri sushi and crispy salmon temaki. Your chef will then show you how to cut your sushi rolls and present them to best effect. You will be amazed at what you can achieve on these sushi cookery classes with a little friendly guidance.

Then comes the finale as you all sit down to eat the sushi - much better than eating in a Japanese restaurant as you have been making the sushi yourself!

Don't worry, your chef won't insist on you using chopsticks to eat the sushi you have made, but can offer fascinating tips on eastern etiquette and table manners. The sushi lessons can be tailored to cater for vegetarians and vegans; 'no knife' sushi parties can also be provided for youngsters. You even get to keep the bamboo sushi rolling mat to use again at home, practice makes perfect!

The practical sushi making element of the learn sushi parties lasts approximately 1.5hrs. There will be plenty of time for eating and questions and answers after the practical session. The professional sushi chefs will provide all the equipment and ingredients required. Don't worry, you don't even have to wash up afterwards!

Learn Sushi experiences are only available at the professional sushi kitchen in Brighton. They  are held once monthly, generally the first Saturday of each month, with sessions are available throughout the year, except between the 15th December to the 5th January.
Home sushi parties are available throughout the year on weekends and weekdays. These lessons can be run at any time of day so are ideal for a sushi dinner party or an office lunch. Larger groups and learn sushi parties in other areas of the country can be provided, however additional travel rates will apply.


Learn Sushi experiences take place at a professional kitchen venue just outside Brighton.
Home Sushi Parties for 10 are available in Kent, East Sussex, West Sussex, Surrey, Berkshire and within the M25. Sushi parties in other areas of the country can be provided, however additional travel rates will apply (usually £1 per mile).


The sushi making experiences can be tailored for all ages and abilities, including 'no knife' options for youngsters. Any under 18's must be accompanied by a participating adult. Any food allergies or restrictions should be discussed with the sushi chefs when booking (e.g. sesame allergy or if you require veggie, vegan or kosher sushi). For mobile sushi parties, the chefs require a source of running water and a flat surface large enough for participants to work from. Groups sushi parties will last around an hour and produce enough food to feed 15 people.


These sushi courses aren't suitable for spectators, but as the classes cater for all ages there's no reason why everyone can't join in the tasty fun.
