
Learn how to cook a proper curryhouse-style curry - a great way to spend a Saturday morning and there's not a jar of pre-made curry paste in sight at this curry school near Haslemere in Surrey.
After a welcoming soft drink and brief talk on the cuisine of the Indian sub-continent, Curry Club founder, author of 34 cookery books and die-hard curry fan Pat Chapman introduces the spices, herbs and chillies which are essential in cooking up an authentic curry house meal. After roasting Garam Masala and frying tandoori paste, he'll then demonstrate how to prepare a variety of authentic dishes including Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Jalfrezi and Chickpea Curry.
Of course, you can't learn to cook up a good curry main dish without the usual tasty side dishes, so you'll also be shown how to make Basmati Pullao Rice, Chappatti and Mint Raitha. As lunch time approaches, the gorgeous aromas of the spicy cooking waft appealingly across the kitchen and you'll then have the chance to sample every dish that's been made, accompanied by a glass of fine wine.

This cookery experience lasts three hours and gives you the chance to learn authentic techniques from a real curry expert. After the demonstration all guests will have the chance to sample the dishes made along with a glass of wine or soft drink. A recipe sheet is also provided to enable you to try out the dishes at home. You will be forming part of a group of up to 18 guests.

A taste for curries is always helpful! Minimum age 11 years, under 18's must be accompanied by an adult. Vegetarians and guests with food allergies can usually be accommodated however ingredients containing fish may be used, please advise the team when booking your place on the experience.

Not suitable for spectators, you'll just have to buy yourself a voucher to join in the fun! Parking is provided on site.
