These cookery days are suitable for both the keen amateur and the complete beginner as well as being perfect for learning specific interest skills. During a full day of workshops at the cookery school in Newliston near Edinburgh , the courses aim to take the stress out of entertaining and make it enjoyable.
Each course covers a different subject area (see below for examples of course contents from Indian to Game) and if requested in advance, the school will try to incorporate special requests.
All workshops begin at 10:00 with a short demonstration of the first dish to be prepared, followed by a 'hands-on' class where you will learn techniques and modern presentation, often using Scottish produce. The day continues with a mix of short demonstrations, practical cookery sessions, discussions and tastings.
As the workshop comes to end, you get the chance to sit down and enjoy the creations you have made, washed down with a glass of wine.

A full day of cooking, taught on no more than a 10:1 student to teacher ratio. You will cook several different dishes, giving you ideas for starters, main courses and desserts, covering a wide variety of techniques and ingredients. This is a great way to increase your cookery knowledge and confidence in a relaxed environment. See our main
cookery course page for more workshops around the country.

Courses run most Saturdays, starting at 10:00. These courses are very popular with current waiting lists of over three months.
