What Can I Expect

Llama trekking in Northamptonshire! Enjoy a visit to Catanger Farm near Towcester to meet and walk with these adorable creatures.

The farm owners originally kept Highland cattle, then added goats. One day Henry the Llama came along to help guard the livestock. Everyone fell in love with him and before they knew it, lots of Llama buddies had joined Henry and the farm became a llama breeding centre.

As well as breeding and training in the pasture and hay fields, a large part of the farmland is an area dedicated to the llama treks, with paths and trails criss-crossing through the woodland planted by the original farmers back in 1995. It’s all as idyllic as it sounds!

In fact, we couldn’t put it better ourselves when Sarah, who runs the llama treks says : “What better way to get away from it all and enjoy the beautiful Northamptonshire scenery than by walking a gentle llama along bridleways, farm tracks and country lanes”.

The vouchers we are offering are for two people. After meeting your human hosts and learning about llama life, you’ll head off on your guided trek with one of the affable residents of this Towcester farm. You could be meeting and making friends  with Waffle, Uncle Waldo, Pogo, Idris, Grappa or any of their llama crew!

And yes, they are as friendly and cute as you’d imagine. Llamas are also patient and strong. They make great pack animals and especially enjoy the steady pace that these trekking experiences offer.

We think you will love meeting, walking with and learning all about these adorable, inquisitive creatures when you get to spend a few hours in their friendly, woolly company on a llama trekking experience at this delightful farm, in the heart of the Northamptonshire countryside.
