Enjoy a day out on 'a bicycle made for two' with these tandem tours of Windsor! You'll have the whole day to explore the Great Park of Windsor at entirely your own pace. The tours are self-guided, so you have no pressure to keep up and you can choose your route.

Taking a tandem bicycle tour in Windsor Park is the perfect way to get some fresh air, do a bit of exercise and take in the sights of this royal parkland. You can ride right past Windsor Castle, along the shores of Dorney Lake, the venue for rowing and canoeing during the 2012 Olympic Games and even past Royal Lodge, home to Prince Andrew.

There are also magnificent gardens to discover on your tandem as you tour around the likes of Savill Garden, first designed in the 1930s and bursting with flowers. There's also Valley Gardens a flowering forest filled with native trees covering 250 acres. You could also take the tandem to Smiths Lawn, where you'll come across a polo club.

Pedal power is what it's all about on these tandem tours of Windsor and with most of the route being on low or traffic free paths and roads within the 1000 acre Great Park, it's a great way to have a go at riding a tandem bike for the very first time.

We will meet you at the Virginia Water Lake between 09:00 – 10:00 with your tandem, demonstrate how to ride the tandem safely and make all the necessary adjustments to get you both comfortable.  The day is yours to explore the Windsor Great Park and we will meet you back at the car park between 16:00 and 17:00. One pannier bag per tandem is provided to carry clothing, lunch, cameras etc.


The Windsor Great Park tandem experience is available 7 days per week from May 1st – October 2nd subject to availability.

A fully refundable security/damage deposit of £250 per hire will be required which will be refunded in full at the end of your experience. To participate as a front rider you need to be over 5ft (153 cms) tall and over 4ft (122 cms) tall to be a rear rider with a maximum combined rider weight of 31 Stone (170kg). Riders must be fit and healthy and at least one member of the party needs to be 18 years of age or older. Helmets are not provided but are recommended.


You are welcome to take a picnic along with you or stop for lunch in the Savill Garden tea shop onsite.
