What Can I Expect

Clay pigeon shooting in Brighton - and a whole lot more! As well as aiming at clays, you can also fire off some arrows and even lob a few axes too at this clay shoot ground just in-land from Brighton. We've got a whole range of experiences for you to choose from, so you can pick the shoot 'em up day to suit you.

Polowood shooting ground is tucked away amongst grazing farmland and woods at the foot of the lovely South Downs hills. You leave touristy Brighton behind when you hit the narrow country lane running along the bottom of the ridge that takes you to the farm estate base. It's a pretty stunning entrance, to say the least and sets the scene for the rest of the your clay pigeon shooting day. Indeed, it's all very countrified round these parts, with a trusty Landy often being used to transport guests around the 10 acre site.

A warm welcome from Polowood shoot's owner Gary and it's straight into the clay pigeon shooting. This is the mainstay of this shooting ground and there's an excellent variety of stands and shooting styles. Around 30 automatic traps release everything from standard to minis and teal to rabbit for you to aim at. There's also a grouse butt (the fastest of the driven quarry to come right at you!), a tower and pairs traps for double clay trouble.

If you want to stick to clays pure and simple here in Brighton, we're offering 25 and 50-shot experiences for you, using Beretta and Winchester guns. To add a bit of flavour to your shooting day, you can opt for an hour of archery as an add on. Those looking for the ultimate day out in the lush green countryside around Brighton will love the four in one experience that gives you clays, archery, air rifles and (wait for it!)…axe throwing!

There's something really quite satisfying about chucking a sharp-bladed axe into a huge chunk or vertical wood. You'll be able to have a go with the likes of 12 inch Ninja axes, tomahawks, bad axes and maybe even the 30inch long competition axe too. Pretty thrilling stuff for this quiet corner of Brighton.

So there you have it. Clay pigeon shooting near Brighton and the added excitement of a duo of other classic shooting sports, with axes thrown in! The Polowood ground welcomes individuals, couples, families and groups of friends to smash those clays into pieces, hit those bullseyes and plant an axe or two all year round.
