Treat them to a Hawking day for kids in East Kent and you are guaranteed big smiles all round as they get to meet, get close to and actually fly these most magnificent of birds, all hosted by CiTV Wildworld telly show presenters Jo and Leigh with their fully trained hawking specialist.

Kids will absolutely love the chance to get together for an exciting day out in the countryside with these birds of prey. Jo and Leigh will be there to introduce the youngsters to their superb collection of birds, offering an educational, fun and informative falconry experience, specially adapted for children, at beautiful Doddington Place Gardens.

Aimed at 8 to 11 year olds and run in groups of no more than 10, each child will have plenty of time to get the glove on and learn how to attract the birds to the hand. They will also learn all about handling, rearing and caring for birds like owls, hawks and vultures, with a bit of pellet dissecting thrown in and even a kids' falconry quiz too!

These kids' hawking experiences run during the main school holidays on weekdays and include a packed lunch for each child, as well as a goody bag to take away with them. We think their day out with the raptors is a great way to celebrate a birthday and is a top outdoor activity they'll never forget.

The days usually run from 10 am - 4pm and include a VIP tour of the birds, tuition on handling, pellet dissecting, care and maintenance of birds of prey, the opportunity to fly Owls, Hawks and Vultures from the glove. Lunch is also included as well as a fun quiz with every child winning a prize. Each child will receive a goody bag with a bird of prey book and badge to take away with them.


These fun days are available during half terms and school holidays, on weekend dates.


The experience will take place at Doddington Place Gardens surrounded by wooded countryside in East Kent, with easy access from the M2


This experience is available to children between the ages of 8-11 years old. You may form part of a group of up to 10 other youngsters.


This activity is not suitable for spectators however, the gardens are usually open to the public so mums and dads can enjoy the views and the tea room serving home made cakes and cream teas (additional fees apply). All staff are CRB checked and use to working with groups of children .There is free on-site parking as well disabled facilities.
