Combine bows and arrows with equestrian skills on this Horseback Archery Day in Welshpool! A totally unique experience, this full day will see you training with the best horseback archers around at this, the only centre in the country offering such a fun and thrilling adventure on horseback.

After being shown around the facilities (that include both an indoor and outdoor track and arena) you will be kitted out with the correct bow weight for your build and then it's time to learn all the basics you need to know about handling the bow and arrows, firing and (hopefully) hitting those targets. On terra firma it all seems quite straight forward, but add in the fact that you're several feet off the ground on the back of a moving horse and the gauntlet is really laid down!

By the end of the morning on this horseback archery day you should be able to shoot a nice straight arrow from your horse. After a break for lunch, things step up a gear and you might find your horse giving it a bit of a trot as you head down the 90m sand track, complete with bow and arrow, rather than the reins, in your hand. The day ends with a mini competition against your fellow horseback archers to see who can hit the bulls-eye. The victorious winner will presented with their very own commemorative arrow to take home with them.
