Discover archery or crossbow archery in Suffolk at this centre renowned for excellent tuition. This archery centre is set on a 1200 acre estate near Bury St Edmunds. Unusually, this venue offers the choice of standard archery with bow or using a crossbow.

Crossbows were popular in European warfare during Roman times and the Battle of Hastings and having a far greater kinetic energy than a normal bow, a crossbow is easier to master. A mechanical mechanism holds the drawn bow string and the bow is horizontal to the body, whilst you hold the archery bow vertically. Both are great fun to try and both will soon bring out the competitive edge in you!

There won't be any battles on the fields of Suffolk, but you will be lining up the arrows (or bolts if you choose crossbow) to hit the bullseye on the round targets. Top tuition is offered here, as individuals get a one to one lesson in archery or crossbow, so you'll have the undivided attention of the instructor. If you want to make an event of it for friends, colleagues or family, there's group archery for two to seven people. More information on our selection of archery experiences is available on our main archery lessons home page.

1:1 Archery sessions last approximately 30 minutes with exclusive tuition. Group Archery sessions last approximately 30 minutes with each participant shooting around 15 arrows, you may be forming part of a group of up to 7 archers. 1:1 Crossbow sessions last around 30 minutes with exclusive tuition and around 15 bolts. All experiences include a welcome and safety briefing, kit and equipment and tuition from expert Archers. Should you wish you can usually pay extra on the day for additional shots.
The venue is open seven days a week from 10am - 5:30pm and in the winter months from10am until 4pm. Participants taking part in a group session may form part of a larger group of up to 6.
