The wooded depths of Sherwood Forest is your destination for this superb archery lesson in Nottinghamshire - you could say it's the spiritual home of archery, courtesy of Robin Hood and his band of merry men.

Whether you're a Maid Marian or more of a Friar Tuck, you'll love the chance to learn how to shoot arrows on target at this woodland archery venue. Unfortunately, there's no Sheriff of Nottingham to aim for as you send those quivering feathered arrows whistling through the air, but you'll still be aiming for gold as you stand opposite the bullseye, bow in hand.

With experienced tuition you'll quickly understand how to load the bow and shoot like a skilled marksman, putting your archery skills into practice for around an hour at this tranquil glade in the middle of Nottinghamshire woodland.

Allow spending an hour and a half on site. Your learn archery experience for two or more, includes a welcome and safety briefing, introduction to the equipment and around an hour on the archery range. Exact timings will vary depending on the numbers on the day. All equipment and tuition is provided. You will usually be forming part of a small group. This activity operates on most weekends, however groups of 12 can usually be arranged any day of the week. Learn archery sessions can be run on mornings and afternoons, subject to light conditions.


The Archery range is set in a glade in the middle of this multi-activity centre in Sherwood Forest. Its approximately 12 miles from Nottingham, 6 miles from Mansfield, 9 miles from Newark and 18 miles from Doncaster, with good access via the A1M and M1.


The minimum age at this venue is 16 years old. Under 18's must be accompanied by an adult.


Spectators are welcome, but views of the archery action are limited for safety reasons. There are toilet and refreshment facilities on site.
