Archery on Horseback - certainly something different to try! Back in the days of old when cavaliers were roaming the wild lands on horseback armed with just a trusty bow and arrow for protection, being a hotshot archer whilst riding your mount was a very useful skill to have. Now you can have a go at archery on horseback on this very special course.

This amazing centre on the England/Wales border is totally unique in the UK and is run by the very dedicated Zana and Karl who excel at archery and stunt horse riding, to name but a few skills. The first thing you'll learn on this half day session is shooting the arrows with both feet on the ground. Key techniques include how to nock your arrows and the ancient thumb draw technique.

Once you've mastered the archery bit, it's time to meet your horse! All the trusty steeds are fully trained and have the perfect temperament for holding steady whilst the archer shoots their arrow, so it doesn't matter whether you are a beginner or an accomplished rider. The challenge of archery on horseback is all about having the bravery to let go of the reins, line up your shot and fire off the arrow, whilst maintaining your composure and balance.

- No riding experience necessary, but you need a reasonable level of fitness
