
Fall hook, line and sinker for this Loch Fishing in Scotland activity! On this superb day you'll learn all you need to know to be able to fly fish and have plenty of time to fish and hopefully make a catch or two.
If you've never fished before don't worry, instructors such as Terry will be on hand to teach you fly fishing techniques from roll casting and overhead casting, to single spey or double spey. If this all sounds alien to you don't worry, you won't feel like a fish out of water, these are different fishing techniques that you'll soon be mastering with your rod and reel.
You'll be fishing on a Scottish Loch for your experience day. These wild fishery lakes boast tranquil waters, stunning scenery and miles of bank to fish from, as well as a small fleet of fishing boats to get you out on the water. All equipment you need is provided and the tutor will be on hand throughout your day to guide and advise.
This Loch Fishing Day in Scotland usually takes place at Hillend Loch, but other venues in the area may also be available. One hour's basic fishing tuition is included for those who have never been fishing before, or anyone wanting to improve their angling techniques.

The Loch Fishing Day includes:
- Health and Safety briefing
- Tuition on setting up the equipment
- One hour's basic fishing tuition starting with bait fishing and an introduction to fly fishing
- Four hours' guided fishing on the loch (fly fishing possible, one rod at a time)
- Personal guide for the duration of the experience
- One to one advice on fishing
You will able to fish on the loch for Brown and Rainbow Trout, with up to four fish to take home with you.

Experiences take place on most Saturdays and Sundays throughout the year. You will meet your guide at 9am and the experience will finish at 2pm.

Hillend Loch between Glasgow and Edinburgh. Other loch venues in the area can be arranged with the supplier subject to availability.

There is no minimum age as long as children are accompanied by a participating adult. No Maximum age is required. All participants should be in good health. Wellington boots and suitable clothing for the weather is recommended. Bring food and drink along with you as the experience will last 5 hours.

Hillend Loch has a small club house for the Airdrie and District Angling club that provides toilet facilities, drinks and snacks. There is a comfortable lounge area and balcony with views over the loch. Spectators are welcome, but won't be able to fish. There is ample parking at the venue too. There is disabled access to the Loch with a tarmac walkway along the south shore of the Loch from the disabled car parking area.
