These hawking courses provide a unique insight into the handling and training of birds of prey. You will be introduced to some of the different birds which make up this private collection in Sussex, including various species of Owl, Falcon and Hawk.

You will have the chance to get up close and personal with some of the birds as you are shown some of the basic techniques involved in handling, training and flying the birds. You will then have the unique opportunity to observe a bird of prey hunting free, gracefully flying from tree to tree and waiting for an opportunity to seek out and catch prey, just as it would in the wild.

The West Sussex woodland provides a spectacular backdrop for the day which breaks at midday for a pub lunch, before heading out into the woods again for more opportunities to see the Hawk in action.

Full days last approximately five hours and provide plenty of time handling the birds as well as including a pub lunch. You can usually take photographs of the birds at the Falconers discretion.

Minimum age is 16, you are advised to wear suitable dark coloured outdoor clothing. Maximum group size is three so you can be assured lots of personal attention.


Small numbers of guests may be permitted, an additional fee of £50is charged for full days. This will include refreshments and food where applicable.
