Enjoy this falconry day in Shropshire on an exclusive one to one basis - just you, the falconer and his collection of beautiful birds of prey. Lasting around six hours, this falconry day offers plenty of time to handle and fly the birds, as well as heading off on a Hawk walk in the Shropshire countryside. And if you want to share your exclusive falconry day in Shropshire with loved ones, up to two people can join you on the day as spectators.

You will be welcomed by Chris, the expert handler who has been training, caring for and raising birds for many years and is heavily involved in wildlife conservation work too, all of which he'll explain to you as you meet the birds on your first session of this falconry day. You will handle and have a go at flying birds such as the European Eagle Owl and the majestic Harris Hawks, before being privy to a close up flying display, watching how Chris works in close natural harmony with his feathery friends to fly, hunt and retrieve.

After a short break for lunch, you'll head off on a Hawk walk, where you'll assist with the handling of the birds. Being a local expert, Chris will also take the time to point out the wild birds in this area of Shropshire, which may include wild Peregrine Falcons, Buzzards and Kestrels. An extra special ornithological treat during breeding season is the chance to check out the local Peregrine eerie (nesting site).

This exclusive one to one experience lasts around 6 hours. After a welcome and introduction to the Falconers work you’ll get the chance to handle and fly a selection of birds, from Sakers and Harris Hawks, up to the mighty European Eagle Owl. Your expert falconer will provide up close flying displays demonstrating the spectacular abilities of the birds. After a short break for lunch you’ll spend the afternoon on a hawk walk with plenty of bird handling opportunities. Tea, Coffee and a snack lunch are included.


Falconry experiences are available on most weekdays throughout the year, running from 10.30am to 4.30pm. Occasional weekend dates may also be available. Check our falconry home page for details on all year round falconry centres.


This venue is located in the Shropshire Hills near Ludlow.


There is no minimum age however under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult. (£25 spectator fee applies). No previous experience is required as sessions are tailored to suit each guest.


A maximum of two Spectators are welcome to attend with a fee of £25 per person payable on site. There is a purpose built reception area with TV, chairs and drink making facilities.
