Falconry in Northumberland

The family run falconry and hunting centre is tucked away in a beautiful unspoilt corner of Northumberland just two miles outside the lovely village of Wark. Whether you choose a half or full day Falconry experience, you will receive one to one tuition and VIP treatment leaving with memories of an unforgettable experience and insight into the wonderful art of falconry. This location is not open to the general public, it specialises in teaching falconry by appointment only.
These falconry experiences allow you to get up close and hands on with a range of owls, hawks and falcons. Your day will start with an introduction to the various birds. You will be taught the basic skills of falconry, how to pick up, weigh and handle them. You will be shown the various pieces of equipment used in modern falconry and taught the all important falconers knot. You will then be given a hawk to fly free through the beautiful countryside, yes, you fly the hawk and the instructors watch.

Full day experience runs from 1000 until approximately 1600. Half day experience runs from 1200 until approximately 1600. Maximum instructor/participant ratio will be 2:1. Tea and coffee is provided.
Please note that lunch is not included in this experience. You are welcome however to take your own packed lunch.

Experiences run throughout the year subject to weather conditions.

The venue is in the Northumberland National Park between Carlisle and Newcastle upon Tyne.

There is no minimum age for these falconry experiences, however, young participants must be able to take instruction. Under 16's must be accompanied by an adult.

These activities are not suitable for spectators.
