These falconry half days in Cumbria offer a truly interactive adventure, where you'll learn all about the art and practice of falconry in the spectacular setting of fells and woodlands. This falconry experience allow plenty of time to handle and fly the raptors, as well as learning all about the techniques to take care of the birds. You will also be able to have a go at some essential falconer tasks such as being able to tie a falconer's knot. A walk with the Hawks through the woods and down by the waterside is also included.
Dee and Daniel are highly experienced falconers, with Dee being one of very few female Eagle handlers in the UK, whilst Daniel has been a professional falconer all his working life and even took charge of his first bird of prey at the age of 12, so you know you're in good hands at this falconry centre in Cumbria, near Grange over Sands.
Sessions last around two and a half hours and will allow you to gain an insight in to the different species of bird from an expert falconer. With plenty of handling and flying opportunities, you will go on a hawk walk, fly Owls and witness the speed of Falcons across the Lakeland countryside. Tea, coffee and light refreshments are included. You may form part of a group of up to 6 participants. Each participant will receive a certificate as a memento of their day.
