These falconry courses provide a unique insight into the handling and training of birds of prey. You will be introduced to some of the different birds which make up this private collection including various species of Owl, Falcon and Hawk at the centre near Chichester in Sussex.

You will have the chance to get up close and personal with some of the birds as you are shown some of the basic techniques involved in handling, training and flying the birds.  You will also be shown how essential falconry equipment such as anklets, bell bewits and jesses are made and used. The highlight of the experience will be handling the birds and watching them fly to your gloved hand on training flights (weather permitting).

The half days last approximately three hours during which time you can expect to interact with at least five owls, two hawks and three of the falcons. Full days last approximately five hours and provide additional time handling the birds as well as including a home prepared lunch and a glass of something cold to refresh you. Tea and coffee are provided for all experiences. You can usually take photographs of the birds at the Falconers discretion.


Bird of prey experiences operate throughout the year (weather permitting) on most weekdays and weekends. All sessions usually begin at 1000 hrs.

Minimum age is 16, you are advised to wear suitable dark coloured outdoor clothing. Maximum group size is three so you can be assured lots of personal attention.


Small numbers of guests may be permitted to watch the experience (subject to the falconers approval), an additional fee of £30 is charged for half days and £50 for full days which includes refreshments and food where applicable.
